Boston College Fires Coach Jim Christian, With Team at 3-13 | Sports News

BOSTON (AP) — Boston College fired basketball coach Jim Christian on Monday with three weeks left in his seventh season.

The Eagles are 3-13 this season with only one win in 10 Atlantic Coast Convention video games.

Assistant Scott Spinelli will function interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

“I do know that Jim gave every part that he had into main our program and mentoring our student-athletes,” stated athletic director Pat Kraft, who inherited Christian from his predecessors. “Finally, this system isn’t headed in the suitable path and although I hesitate to make a midseason teaching change in any sport, now’s the suitable time for us to look ahead.”

Underneath Christian, the Eagles had been 78-132 and 26-94 within the ACC.
